Just as Sched’s platform helps people connect, learn, and grow through events, our HR Generalist will play a key role in building meaningful relationships and ensuring that every team member’s journey is smooth, empowering, and impactful. In this role, you’ll support all areas of HR operations, from onboarding to ongoing engagement, in a globally distributed environment. Your work will be both strategic and hands-on, helping foster a positive, compliant, and growth-focused environment. Collaborating closely with People Leadership and employees, you’ll be a driving force in making Sched an incredible place to work and grow.
What Will You Do?
Compensation and Benefits Administration
Administer employee compensation and benefit plans accurately, providing timely support for benefits-related questions, especially during open enrollment.
Ensure compliance with global and local payroll, benefits, and tax regulations, supporting a seamless experience for both full-time and contract employees.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Support
Coordinate recruitment logistics, manage interviews, and assist with the overall hiring process.
Facilitate the onboarding of new hires and contractors, overseeing documentation, compliance, and orientation processes to foster strong integration in a remote environment.
Employee Relations and Support
Serve as the primary HR contact for employees regarding leaves, compensation, benefits, and workplace issues, building strong global relationships and promoting a positive remote work environment.
Promptly resolve employee relations issues and foster a collaborative culture across diverse regions.
HR Policy, Compliance, and Data Management
Assist in developing and implementing HR policies that comply with global labor laws and data protection regulations, such as GDPR.
Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, ensuring compliance with international workforce regulations and providing reliable data for reporting.
Employee Engagement and Performance Management
Organize virtual team-building activities and engagement initiatives to strengthen remote team cohesion and improve job satisfaction.
Support performance management processes, including quarterly and annual reviews, and assist managers with performance development plans and review documentation.
Continuous Improvement
Collaborate on People Team projects and initiatives to enhance HR processes and improve the employee experience in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.
What Skills and Knowledge Should You Bring?
Experience:
4+ years in a Human Resources Generalist role.
2+ years in a startup or early-stage company environment.
1+ year of recruitment support experience, ideally within a remote setting.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with HRIS and ATS tools (e.g., TalentLyft, Rippling).
Familiarity with remote work platforms (G-Suite, Slack, Notion).
Experience with tools supporting distributed workforces, such as Hofy or Ripple, for remote equipment logistics and compliance tracking.
Compliance Knowledge:
Strong understanding of payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with local and federal labor laws, as well as international labor laws.
Knowledge of Employer of Record (EOR) processes is beneficial for managing international remote employees.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capability to clearly explain policies and handle sensitive issues empathetically and professionally.
Ability to foster trust and build relationships with employees and contractors across different regions and cultural backgrounds.
Organizational Skills:
Keen attention to detail to maintain accuracy in HR data and adherence to labor laws, privacy regulations, and remote work policies.
Strong time management skills to balance multiple HR functions and deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.
Problem-Solving:
Resourceful and proactive in identifying and resolving HR-related issues efficiently, with a focus on unique challenges related to a global workforce (e.g., varying time zones and labor laws).
Legal Acumen:
Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) to ensure compliance with global data privacy laws.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience with EOR processes, especially for managing international remote employees.
Proficiency with payroll, employee records, and data reporting in systems such as JustWorks, Gusto, HiBob, or Rippling.
Timezone Requirement:
Must be able to work EST hours.
